The City of Okoboji has an opening for a full-time Public Works employee.

The City of Okoboji, Iowa is seeking to hire a highly-skilled and self-motivated individual as a Public Works employee. This is a full-time position with excellent benefits. Applicant must be at least 18 years old, have a valid Iowa driver’s license along with a good driving record, and be able to obtain a Class B CDL with airbrake endorsement. Applicant must be able to perform a variety of maintenance work with a variety of light and heavy equipment. This position requires the ability to safely perform duties relating to the operation, maintenance, and repair of the City’s streets, parks, properties, and equipment. This employee will also assist as needed with water and sewer functions of the City as well as snow and ice removal.  This position will be required to share on-call status with other employees and will be required to respond to emergency situations involving disruptions in City services.

 

Preferred candidates have at least an Iowa DNR Water Grade I license or willingness and ability to work towards DNR certification require to operate the City’s water system.
